Strengthening of RC columns under eccentric loads using NSM steel and GFRP bars

Abstract The behavior of eccentrically loaded RC columns strengthened by NSM steel and glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebars is investigated in this study. A total six column specimens have been cast study with dimensions (150×150×1200) mm (width × height length). Two are unstrengthened considered as controls, while the other method using bars hybrid GFRP rebars. All tested under concentric eccentric loads an eccentricity 75mm up to failure. Experimental results terms crack patterns, modes failure, load-displacement curves all monitored, recorded, assessed. experimental shown improvement ultimate load capacity for specimens. Further, demonstrated that, load, almost similar enhancement strength NSM-strengthened only bars. However, at was increased 62% 79.45% compared control steel, GFRP, respectively. Finally, found that e/h = 0.5 tension zone about 11% when steel.
